THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD;I SHALL NOT WANT.(PSALM 23:1).
Most people know that refined white table sugar is best avoided. But confusion arise about all the other forms that sugar can take. The only way to decrease your sugar consumption is to refrain from adding sugar to your foods, avoiding the foods that are made with any kind of sugar derivative, and lowering the intake of foods that quickly turn to sugar in the blood
1.Never sweeten your food or beverages with table sugar.Try the herb stevia, which is incredibly sweet but not a sugar and therefor has no effect on your blood sugar.
2.Pay more attention to labels.Sugar lurks in many of the food we purchase, including condiments and savories.Note that one of the most widely used sweeteners in commercial foods comes from corn, which is a vary sugary vegetable. If ingredients include such things as corn syrup, corn starch, dextrose and maltodextrin, you are eating and drinking sugar.Start looking at ingredient labels and checking for words that end in -ose to sniff out the sugar
3.Be suspicious of anything naturally sweetened.Honey, rice syrup, and cane juice are all sugar..Concentrated fruit juice used as sweetener is also little more than flavored sugar syrup.Be moderate in use of jams and jellies, cut them out entirely if you can.
