SALT.....The excessive amount of salt in the modern diet contributes not only to high blood pressure in those pre disposed to hypertension,but also to taste inflation.If you frequently add salt to your food,ask why?Do you eat a lot of processed food and fast food,which typically has high levels of salt and includes preservatives,most of which are sodium based?Has that elevated your tolerance for salt?Or is the food you are cooking lacking in flavor and you are compensating with salt? Use salt sparingly,and look for sea salt,which features beneficial minerals,not regular table salt or iodized salt,which is high in aluminum.

WATCH YOUR FRUIT JUICE INTAKE.......Fruits are packed with many valuable nutrients.But they are high in fructose,a form of sugar.Fruit juices have been stripped of the fiber that would have slowed down sugar absorption in the blood and you are left with a highly sugary liquid.(an eight-ounce glass of pure juice has about eight teaspoons of sugar in it.) In addition,most store-bought juice have been pasteurized,which kills vital enzymes.Some pure fruit juices are still of great value when used in moderation,as they give a powerful vitamin and antioxidant punch.DRINK SMART!

A whole grain is,well,literally the whole grain,including the three main parts:the germ,the bran,and the endosperm.By contract,"refined grains" means the germ and bran have been stripped out during processing.The problem with this is that the brain is what contains the healthy fiber,and the germ is where you will find most of the nutrients.

5.DO NOT EAT WHEN STRESSED OUT.
6.AVOID CONSTIPATION......eat loads of fiber,vegetable and fruits.
7.AVOID SATURATED OR DAMAGED FATS........these unhealthy fats can cause liver damage or increase chances of fatty liver and once your liver is stressed,you can not loose weight because that is your fat burning machine..

Whole grain foods turn sugar more slowly than refined grains and are therefore a much better choice because they won't trigger the extreme roller-coaster reaction.;plus you benefit from the fiber.But the fact is that all grains turn to sugar and elevate the glucose levels in your blood for considerable chunks of time.All grains eaten in excess will therefore cause you to turn their energy into fat.The effects can be serious;If you keep the noise level high by consuming lots of grain,starches,and other sugars,you will become deaf to the hormone signals that want to keep you vital and slim.White is worse!When in doubt,if it's made from white-white flour,white rice,white sugar-make a different choice.Give up buying foods made from white flour.It is devoid of nutrients,and the additives in it can cause deficiencies.

Most people know that refined white table sugar is best avoided.But confusion arise about all the other forms that sugar can take.The only way to decrease your sugar consumption is to refrain from adding sugar to your foods,avoiding the foods that are made with any kind of sugar derivative,and lowering the intake of foods that quickly turn to sugar in the blood
1.Never sweeten your food or beverages with table sugar.Try the herb stevia,which is incredibly sweet but not a sugar and therefor has no effect on your blood sugar.
2.Pay more attention to labels.Sugar lurks in many of the food we purchase,including condiments and savories.Note that one of the most widely used sweeteners in commercial foods comes from corn,which is a vary sugary vegetable.If ingredients include such things as corn syrup,corn starch,dextrose and maltodextrin,you are eating and drinking sugar.Start looking at ingredient labels and checking for words that end in -ose to sniff out the sugar

TRANS FAT.........Like cigarette,do all sorts of bad things to your body.They not only cause you to gain weight faster than you can say"french fries"they also take a toll on your immune system and may even cause cancer.Trans fat are made by adding hydrogen to vegetable oil,a process called hydrogenation.The food industry loves trans fat because they last very long,but they are terrible for us because our bodies are not primed to process them.When you eat foods cooked with trans fat,your body undergoes a lot of oxidative stress and store fat cells quickly.This leads to even more oxidative stress.
If that is not enough to stop you, trans fat interfere with a cell membrane's ability to respond to insulin molecules.This creates a blood sugar imbalance that stimulates cravings for sugar and other junk foods containing trans fats,sparking the circle to start all over again.Trans fat are so dangerous,in fact,they are now considered a public health hazard.
To avoid trans fat,avoid eating from fast foods restaurants,run away from things like small chops,puff-puff,commercial fried foods .

ATTAINABLE......Be sure your goal is attainable.Setting an unrealistic weight loss goal only sets you for failure.Often times,losing just 5 to 10 percent of your current weight can lead to big changes in your overall health and appearance.But if you are not sure what a realistic goal should be,see a dietician.
REWARDING.......It's good to reward yourself along the way. Positive reinforcement,whether it's from yourself or others,can be a strong motivator.When you pass a milestone on the way to your goal,give yourself a nonfood reward,such as a new pair of walking shoes.Share your progress with your family and friends;Their praise may be all the reward you need to keep moving toward your ultimate goal.

SMART weight loss goals:You want to get on the road to weight loss,but before you set out,You need some kind of a road map.The more detailed the map,the better your chances of arriving at your destination without getting lost or detoured along the way.Your map will also help you stayed focused on your goals.

SPECIFIC.......Be specific about your weight loss goals and the result you want to achieve.You can breakdown your main goal into several goals,especially if what you want to achieve seems daunting at first.Once you meet an interim goal,set a new one that is closer to your ultimate goal.
MEASUREMENT........Set goals with results you can measure,and give yourself reasonable time frames,such as one month,three months,or six months.You can monitor the number on the scale or you can simply use the fit of your clothing or changes in your waist and hip circumferences as your measurement result.
